Alastair Kay, Head of Brass at Humber College, is well-known as a versatile, virtuosic jazz and classical soloist. He has worked with many top musicians and entertainers including Ella Fitzgerald, Rob McConnell, Frank Sinatra, Diana Krall, Tony Bennet, Aretha Franklin, Maria Schneider, Warren Vache and Andrea Bocelli. Al performs regularly with True North Brass, Hilario Duran, his own trombone ensemble, and John MacLeod’s Juno Award winning big band. He is first-call for most studio and musical theatre work including Mary Poppins, Come Fly Away, Cats, and Dirty Dancing. His association with Yamaha has taken him to Japan to help design the best-selling YSL 697Z trombone and the Al Kay Artist Model mouthpiece.
