Autobahn is a collective jazz trio from Toronto, that embraces the pursuit of improvisation through the exploration of their original compositions. Following the release of their debut album, The River, they are preparing to release their second album in 2016. Autobahn is comprised of three in-demand young musicians based in Toronto: pianist James Hill, saxophonist Jeff LaRochelle and drummer Ian Wright.

Autobahn has been gaining a lot of momentum leading into 2016. In March 2015, the trio received funding from the Canada Council for the Arts to travel to Banff, Alberta, where they participated in the Banff Centre Winter Musicians in Residence program. At the Banff Centre, Autobahn had the opportunity to spend two weeks time in one of the worlds most secluded, high profile musical environments. The trio has developed a new body of work for their second album, to be recorded onJanuary 29, 2016, at Revolution Studios in Toronto, Ontario, also funded by the Canada Council for the Arts.

‚ÄčIt is their goal to bring the new album across the country to all major jazz festivals in 2016. The trio has conducted educational workshops at some of Canada's most notable jazz institutions, including Humber College and the University of Toronto, and has received praise for their debut album, The River.
