Betty Richardson

Betty, started singing professionally at the age of 15 with sister Jackie
- went solo joined the Silouettes with Doug Riley
- was original Toronto cast member of the play Hair, also Australian Hair company
- did many TV music/comedy series. With Martin Short, Andy Williams, George Kirby, Ray Stevens
- was background vocal on many TV/Radio commercials
- got married, had a child settled down for awhile
- got a call to do some backgrounds for John Finley of John Lee & the Checkmates at the Pears Avenue Blue Note Club for six weeks
- Met Kingsley Ettienne (he was the keyboard player for John Finley) we formed a group called ‘Formula Five’ which included Kingsley, Myself, Reggie Evans, Rodney Appleby and Liberty Silver
- Liberty left and we eventually dissolved.
- Met Milan Kymlicka who was a well know CBC composer. He produced my CD, “Pulse Beat”. Radio stations picked one song that was on their playlist daily for over a year called ‘Special Love’. I have heard recently there is a radio station playing some cuts from that CD even today.
- For a short time the two sisters Betty & Jackie hooked up with Jackies daughter Kim and called themselves ‘The Richardson,’ but conflicting schedules did not allow us to get together that often. We still do occasionally, so if you see the Richardson anywhere in town I promise you, you will not be disappointed
- Betty has recently been named resident ‘Background Singer Arranger’ at studio called ‘The Ranch’. Quite an honor.
