Bobby Rice is a Juno Awards nominated composer/arranger/producer/trumpeter and currently leads one of the most exciting Latin jazz big bands in Canada, which regularly features the multi-Juno award winning Hilario Durán, along with many more of Canada’s finest jazz musicians (e.g., Phil Dwyer, Bill McBirnie, Al Kay, Ted Quinlan, Mark Kelso, Alex Dean, Kevin Turcotte, et al). His new album, Bobby Rice Latin Jazz Big Band: X-Treme Latin Jazz, is released under the Addo Records label and also features the internationally acclaimed David Virelles—this album received a Juno nomination.

Bobby is currently a faculty member at Humber College and holds a Master of Arts degree in composition to complement his B.A in Jazz Studies and Humber College Music Diploma, and has also received four arts grants (composition and recording) from the Ontario Arts Council and the Toronto Arts Council respectively. He also won Best Canadian Composition at the 2006 Music Aid International Music Awards.

While he has performed all over the world as a freelance musician, his seven-piece Latin jazz group, Sandunga, has performed in virtually every major jazz festival in Ontario. Bobby has also performed and/or recorded with the following artists: Shania Twain, Mary Wilson (Supremes), Frankie Vali, Frankie Avalon, the Drifters, Dick Clark, Bill Cosby, Joan Rivers Louise Pitre, Robert Pilon, Colm Wilkinson, Michael Burgess, Jackie Richardson, Rich Little, Rik Emmett (Triumph), and many more.
