Julie McGregor

Vocalist and host of popular Singer’s Jazz Series, Julie is a soulful singer who draws her audience in with her story telling style and warmth. Julie sings a wide range of jazz standards. Hers interest in jazz started at a very young age when listening to her dad’s old jazz 78’s collection. It was the influence of those old artists that mostly inspired her love of jazz and blues music. At the age of six, she knew she wanted to be a singer. Her childhood friend remembers Julie playing her a Billie Holiday record when she was only 8 years old.

Julie was nominated for Best Jazz for the New Music Awards for 2011 and won the Best Jazz Vocalist at the Burlington Jazz Festival. At the Art of Jazz Festival in the Distillery, she performed in the Barry Harris Choir with guest soloist Kevin Mahogony. She performs at various Jazz and Blues Festivals and clubs in Toronto.
