Paco Luviano

Paco Luviano hails from a family of musicians from Acapulco, México. He has toured and recorded dozens of albums with international artists such as Liona Boyd, Jane Bunnett, Hendrik Meurkens, Hilario Durán, and Paquito D’Rivera and with artists that include: Faris Amine (Algeria/Italy), Ignacio Berroa, Ralph Irizarry (1954-2021), Filo and Celso Machado (Brazil), Frankie Valli, and Randy Brecker, among others. Paco is well-known for playing a broad range of international musical styles and genres. In 2010, Paco developed an artistic and cultural exchange to Cartegena, Colombia, where he collaborated with the folkloric Afro-Colombian group Las Alegres Ambulancias in San Basilio de Palenque. The city and people have been declared “Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity” by UNESCO. Paco is one of the founding members of Kuné: Canada’s Global Orchestra (Universal Records). He recorded on the Hutzul Planet project, which documents musical songs and traditions of the Hutzul people of Ukraine.
