Tamar Ilana

Tamar Ilana is an internationally renowned award-winning vocalist, singing in over 20 languages, and a mesmerizing flamenco dancer. Tamar grew up on stage and on the road as the daughter of a travelling ethnomusicologist and is of Jewish, Indigenous, Romanian and Scottish descent. Her global music project, Tamar Ilana & Ventanas, has released three albums - two of them at the Aga Khan Museum – and received four CFMA nominations. In 2020, Tamar co-founded fabcollab.ca to showcase BIPOC, female-identifying and minority artists online.

Sought after for her artistry and versatility, Tamar has been featured in award-winning musicals in New York, San Francisco, Washington DC, the UK and Germany; has recorded with artists around the world; and was dubbed “Canada’s own pan global diva” by Jesse Cook. Tamar also sings with Jaffa Road and the Esmeralda Enrique Spanish Dance Company, dances with Sultans of String and teaches at the Academy of Spanish Dance. Tamar has lived in Barcelona, Seville, Paris and Ibiza, and is currently based in her hometown of Toronto.
