Tia Brazda

Tia Brazda’s jazz-pop gems and bold style have made a sparkling impression at home and abroad, paying homage to the golden era while remaining daringly modern. She has toured the world performing at such prominent festivals as the Montreux Jazz Festival, on the main stage at the Festival International de Jazz de Montreal, and at the San Jose Jazz Summer Fest (rated "Best of the Fest" by local pess). Having honed her unique sound in the clubs of Toronto, Brazda burst onto the scene in 2012 with her electro-swing inspired debut EP ‘Cabin Fever’, which hit #1 on the iTunes Jazz Chart in Canada and received airplay across Canada and Europe, where she toured in support. In 2015 she followed that up with the full-length album ‘Bandshell’, which also debuted at #1 and was ranked the #5 best Canadian jazz release of 2015 by Jazz FM 91 in Toronto. In 2016 she released an electro-swing version, called ‘Bandshell Remixed’ featuring DJs from around the globe, and which made the Best of 2016 list on the Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show on BBC Radio 6 in the UK. Her new album ‘Daydream’ also debuted at #1 on the iTunes chart and sees her going in bold new directions, with influences of soul, bossa nova and pop, featuring her irresistible voice cradled in a rich and varied atmosphere of strings, horns, and backing vocals. She moves effortlessly from the bossa nova of the title track and the soul-inspired "Right On Time", to the pure jazz balladry of “Irreplaceable”, cool jazz vibe of ‘Perfect Distraction’ and tango-infused French chanson of “Un amour bohème”.
