What's so good about Matt Andersen?

Artist:
Matt Andersen

Some artists must be experienced live in order to get a true appreciation of their talent. Matt Andersen is one of those artists.

That's not to say Matt's musical ability does not, somehow, come across on record or on YouTube. He is a powerhouse musician - a huge voice, an excellent guitarist, and a passionate performer - and that becomes clear no matter how his music is being heard. But to truly understand why Matt's such an incredible performer, you need to be there in person.

Matt Andersen

The best performing songwriters, the ones who sound like they really mean what they’re singing about, tend to come from areas known for hard times and hard work. Like say, Perth-Andover, a rural blue-collar village in the Canadian Maritime province of New Brunswick—the home of acclaimed singer-songwriter and guitarist Matt Andersen.

Robb Cappelletto

Robb's guitar playing echoes some of the greatest jazz guitar players from the 60's, such as Wes Montgomery, Kenny Burrell. In every performance he echoes such icons while maintaining his own voice.

Big Rude Jake

Jake is a lyricist, songwriter, singer and musician with a diverse array of influences.

Noted for his skill as a ‘blues shouter’ and the ‘swing punk’ sound of his first few albums, he is especially drawn to the roots of American music. You’ll hear blues, jazz, swing, rockabilly, jump, gospel, folk and his distinctive fingerpicking ragtime guitar. Add a little cabaret and some punk attitude, and you’ve got Big Rude Jake.
