Hiromi and her sidemen

There's no denying the talent Hiromi possesses. She plays the piano with blinding speed and deadly accuracy, taking the music to unprecedented levels of complexity and sophistication. But as we all know, you're only as good as the company you keep and Hiromi's in good company!

Never one to be satisfied with the status quo, Anthony Jackson had the dogged determination to change the face of the bass guitar by championing and creating the six-string bass. Dubbed the contrabass guitar, Jackson's signature sound blends perfectly with Hiromi's musical curiosity and innovative spirit.

Drummer Simon Phillips is best known for his work with Toto, but did you know he's also played with The Who, Judas Priest and Tears for Fears? Now THAT's what you call an impressive resume. Effortlessly straddling the lines between rock and jazz, Phillips attacks each genre with grace and ease, making this concert one to definitely catch.

Don't miss Hiromi: The Trio Project when they play Tuesday, June 24 at Koerner Hall. Afterall, when's the next time you'll be able to say you were in such fine company? This performance is presented by Yamaha.
