Jerusa Leao and 5Quintet is a fusion of musical inspirations ranging from the classic Brazilian 70's era with nuances of psychedelic rock, baião, dub, afrobeat, and bossa nova. Their eclectic sound has the power to dismantle any preconceived ideologies of what traditional Brazilian music should be. The music transcends boundaries by having roots in Canadian, Japanese, Brazilian, and Peruvian cultures.
The band consists of Jerusa Leão on vocals, Andrew Pacheco on bass, João Leão on keys, May on sax, and Matias Recharte on drums and percussion.
