Kollage is Canada’s premiere hard-bop band. Originally formed in 1999 by iconic jazz drummer the late Archie Alleyne (Billy Holiday, Stan Getz, Lester Young, Harry “Sweets” Edison and many more) and saxophonist Doug Richardson, the sextet has garnered praise from the IAJE (International Association of Jazz Educators) for preserving the jazz tradition and are recipients of multiple Canada National Jazz Awards.
Over the years Kollage has featured some of Canada’s finest jazz musicians as part of their alumnus with many former members going on to have outstanding international solo careers. The release of their recording “No Fuss, No Muss” signified the beginning of a new era for the band. Their current lineup is led by pianist and musical director Stacie McGregor who was chosen by Archie Alleyne prior to his passing in 2015.kollage.ca
