Melanie Durrant is an award-winning Canadian soul-singer who embodies real artistry through her very unique, edgy and soulful music style.

Born and raised in Toronto, Melanie attended the Earl Haig School of the Arts and trained at the RoyalConservatory of Music. Citing influences that range from the soulful swoon of Minnie Ripperton, to the powerful voice of Aretha Franklin, to the “mercy me” melodies of Marvin Gaye, the radiant singer/songwriter has no problems crashing through the wall of sound.

Throughout her career, Durrant has garnered a list of music accolades. In 2013, her reggae influenced lovers rock single, "Made For Love" was nominated for Reggae Single of Year for the 2013 Juno Awards. Then in 2014, "Gone" was Durrant's second release in as many years to be recognized by the CanadianAcademy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) at the JUNO Awards. She then received her third consecutive nomination for "Four Seasons" as a 2015 JUNO Award-nominee for R&B/Soul Recording of the Year. In that same year, Durrant also received a nomination for Soul/R&B Artist or Group of theYear at the SirusXM Indie Awards.

Her previous album "Anticipation" has been streamed over 3.7 million times world-wide. It peaked at#5 on the Canadian iTunes R&B chart, landed a #1 spot on campus radio, and saw a Top 20 spot on the national Earshot! chart. Her single "Goodbye" was selected for a major ad campaign and was broadcasted in 27 countries. Durrant has headlined multiple festivals including the Montreal Jazzfestand Toronto Beaches Jazzfest.

This multi-talented artist was also a featured performer in the Canadian production of Rent. Being a regular in the ensemble allowed her to work with her good friend/cast mate Jill Scott (Hidden Beach/Epic Records).

In addition to performing her own shows for audiences across Canada & the U.S., Melanie has shared the stage alongside Jay Z, 50 Cent, Jill Scott, Fantasia, Alessia Cara, Cissy Houston, Sean Paul, Common, and many other top acts.
