Cyndi Cain is the East Coast’s most formidable figure in original soul music. Her powerful voice, unforgettable stage charisma, and timeless compositions have made her a rising star in Nova Scotia’s vibrant music scene. Fronting a band that features six of Halifax’s best musicians, Cyndi draws musical roots from her early childhood singing gospel music in church. Her music evokes the classic soul and r&b sounds of Sharon Jones, Aretha Franklin and Bettye LaVette. Cyndi is rapidly gaining recognition as a force in Canada’s music community, and she is not slowing down.

Broadsway

John Alcorn is one of Canada’s premiere jazz vocalists, delivering his distinctive renditions of jazz standards on the most prestigious bandstands and concert stages across Canada. His list of citations and acknowledgements in music and theatre includes both Jazz Report (Male Vocalist of the Year) and Dora (Outstanding Music) awards.

Two of Canada’s most revered jazz veterans meet up with fresh new talent in this special performance showcasing exciting young vocalists.
Singer-songwriter, Allison Long, dynamic vocal trio, CJ&T, and other young vocalists hit the Musideum stage playing everything from jazz classics to originals, British soul and more. Dave Restivo (piano) and JUNO winning bassist, Mike Downs accompany.

Julian Taylor Band

Taylor is a Canadian, award-winning, singer-songwriter who began his career as a teenager; playing at local, open stages around the city. Those humble beginnings have led Taylor down a storied path that includes; the release of seven albums, ten top-forty singles and has seen him play more than two thousand live shows in the last decade.
