51 Years, A Million Miles. Climax justify the title ‘Canada’s Jazz Ambassadors’ by having travelled over a million miles (1.6m km) performing at festivals across North America, Europe and Japan and on dozens of jazz cruises in the Caribbean, to Alaska and Hawaii.

‘‘Wanted. Fun Pub Band’ — Toronto Star May 1971 — led to six nights a week at Albert’s Hall, Ye Olde Brunswick House, charter flights to New Orleans and invitations to festivals. In 1974 Climax moved to DJ’s Tavern in the brand new Ontario Hydro Building as well as adding Saturday matinées at Malloney’s Studios.

Since 1983 they’ve played Saturday matinées at The Chick’N’Deli (now SmokeShow) at Mt. Pleasant and Eglinton, produced many recordings, opened for Benny Goodman at Massey Hall and hosted many famous musicians, including Oscar Peterson.

Climax plays New Orleans tunes with a British tinge, served up with a large helping of fun.
