OLG First Plays at the TD Toronto Jazz Festival is an initiative that showcases music by Ontario-based artists, regardless of age or career stage, who have not previously performed on an official TD Toronto Jazz Festival stage.

From November 30, 2021 through April 26, 2022, Artistic Director Josh Grossman selected a different weekly artist to participate in the OLG First Plays initiative. Each selected artist was featured on the TD Toronto Jazz Festival's Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages; each was offered a $100 honorarium, and selected artists performed a full set - a paid performance – at the 2022 festival:
